NOTES: A good quality audio boot of the Tuesday performance of Rent on its UK tour, including some understudies. Amazing performance by all, particular standouts were Jenny O'Leary (who's vocals were AMAZING) and Layton Williams who absolutely killed it as Angel. Chuckling can be heard during Over the Moon and the occasional sniffle here and there during Act 2. If used for trading, please list as pastelchachki.tumblr.com's master.

Billy Cullum (Mark Cohen), Ross Hunter (Roger Davis), Philippa Stefani (Mimi Márquez), Layton Williams (Angel Dumott Schunard), Ryan O´Gorman (Tom Collins), Javar La'Trail Parker (Benjamin Coffin III)

NOTES: Stunning Friday night performance from the 20th Anniversary cast of RENT in the UK, recorded with Tascam DR-05. Make no mistake, this production is an absolute revelation as many reviews have attested. The cast and the band sounded utterly incredible at this performance. Everyone on stage was having the time of their lives and the audience were lapping it up. Special mentions to Philippa Stefani (comfortably the best British Mimi I’ve seen) and Lucie Jones - both ladies were in great voice. Haunts&Hurts Master- please mark this on your list as NFT until 7 May 2017. This audio is also NOT allowed to be posted on video websites such as Youtube/Google Video etc.

NOTES: Second cover Joshua Dever's first performance as Roger.  For some reason, Mrs Davis's vocals in Voice Mail #5 were sung from offstage (unsure by whom).

NOTES: This is usually mislabeled "May 1" instead of January 5--the US and UK dating got mixed up at some point with 01/05. There was no production of RENT in the UK in May 2002. Sound quality is decent enough for a 2002 RENT audio (...I realize this is a very low bar), and it's fun to hear so many understudies!

West End Revival (Remixed) | MP3 (tracked) | Cast Recording

Oliver Thornton (Mark), Luke Evans (Roger), Craig Stein (Benny), Leon Lopez (Collins), Francesca Jackson (Joanne), Jay Webb (Angel), Siobhán Donaghy (Mimi), and Denise Van Outen (Maureen).

NOTES: Unreleased cast recording for RENT Remixed which played in the West End in 2007/2008. For those of you who aren't familiar with RENT Remixed: Fashion Designer William Baker directed a totally reworked production of RENT that played the West End in 2007/2008. The show reworked the score to be played on a few synths, re-arranged songs, moved the setting to present day, made half of the characters british, and dramatically re-orchestrated the score (Out Tonight was turned from a rock ballad to a slow moving burlesque number and What You Owned was turned into a solo piano ballad for Mark). The show got horrible reviews and closed only to be mostly forgotten.

Sydney - January 26, 2021 | MP3 (tracked) | revolutiontrade

Mat Verevis (Mark), Robert Tripolino (Roger), Mia Morrissey (Mimi), Callum Francis (Collins), Seann Miley Moore (Angel), Monique Sallé (Maureen), Elenoa Rokabaro (Joanne), Tim Omaji (Benny) , Henry Brett, Jarrod Draper, Kieran McGrath, Marissa Saroca, Angelina Thomson, Stacey Thomsett

NOTES: Australia Day performance with a speech the show by Jarrod Draper honoring the Aboriginal people, and one following the show by Callum Francis honoring Jonathan Larson and the 25th Anniversary of Rent on Broadway. Absolutely phenomenal cast and production with a couple of alterations to musical arrangements and added lines of dialogue (including the addition of they/them pronouns for Angel, and a substitute for mooing in ‘Over the Moon’ due to the pandemic). Act 2 started with what I can only call a jam session of ‘Seasons of Love’. The cast slowly came together with either an instrument, their voices, or to dance which lasted about five minutes before the second act officially started and the energy in the room was pure magic. Truly a special performance of a fantastic production, with an enthusiastic audience.
